An embarrassment is what the memo is. After its release it was met with disappointment and laughter as it had inconclusive information and statements without any proof to back them up. You would expect that a document as important as it was expected this memo to be would be a decent read and state factual information but, low and behold, the memo’s author didn’t even know what he was writing about.
Yes, that’s right; Devin Nunes admitted on Fox News that he did not read the FISA applications that served as the groundwork for the memo. This memo was supposed to state how the FBI was not impartial when the bureau asked for a renewal of the permit that allowed for the surveillance of Carter Page to continue.
In the interview conducted at Fox News Devin Nunes expressed sadness for the lengths that this situation went to but he felt he had to write it because he had “an obligation to show the American People when we see FISA abuse”, however when the interviewer asked him if he read the FISA applications Nunes said that he did not read them.
Detractors were right in doubting the contents of the memo, as the Federal Investigation Bureau and the Department Of Justice expressed concern over the memo because of its misleading and false information that could create another false narrative for the general public to invest time in. Now the question at hand is simple, if Nunes never read FISA’s applications, how did he see the supposed abuse of them by the FBI? Devin Nunes definitely won’t be trusted from now on.
